Make a Double Crochet

Like half double crochet, you make a double crochet stitch by doing a yarn over before inserting your hook into the next stitch. Its pattern abbreviation is DC or dc.

Double Crochet
To begin a project with a row of double crochet, create a foundation chain equal to the number of double
crochet stitches you require, plus 3. Work your first double crochet into the fourth chain from your hook. Continue to the end of the chain. Turn.
1)- Yarn over once.
2)- Insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn over, and draw the yarn through the stitch .There are now 3 loops on the hook.
3)- Yarn over and draw the yarn through the first 2 loops on the hook .There are now 2 loops on the hook
4 )-Yarn over and draw the yarn through the 2 remaining loops on the hook . One double crochet created .
5)- Continue to follow steps 1–4 until you have completed your first row of double crochet.
6 Chain 3 to create a turning chain . Turn the piece. Skip the first stitch at the beginning
of the row. The turning chain counts as the first double crochet of the row. Follow steps
1–4 to create a double crochet in the second stitch of the row.
